Very many/many ctrs.: The exact number will always be hard to say, but the number is a very large one.  There are several research centers in th U.S., like memorial sloan kettering, national institutes of health, and the mayo clinic.  In these centers are many subcenters, including those devoted to cancer research, with breast cancer being a prime example.  The world has similar centers in many developed countries.

consider moderation as alcohol in excess is really detrimental to your health besides the addiction that can ruin your life and your family too!

Not really: Many women are treated for dcis as if they have breast cancer when this can regress without treatment in up to half of the women. When you lump this non cancer diagnosis into the treatment results they look much better. If you subtract these women from the data there isn't much improvement in the past 20 years - just more expensive meds. Women need to manage hormones/diet to prevent breast cancer!

Very, very unlikely: Many of the symptoms associated with breast cancer (a lump, pain, discharge) are also caused by common conditions. That being said, go see your health care provider to find out what is going on.

The 2: Nationally known cancer research centers are scripps and uc san diego.  I've worked at the nci and 5 nci designated centers, and I am not sure that you have to go to one of these for most cases of breast cancer care. In fact, sometimes going to your local center/doctor first, and seeking the 2nd opinion is best. You choose.

Think Pink: There are many reputable organizations out there that raise funds for breast cancer, but the breast cancer research foundation actually contributes about 90% of its funds to research.  http://www.bcrfcure.org/

also consider supporting the american cancer society.  http://www.cancer.org/.

Nat'l societies: If you are looking for a surgeon - go online to the society of surgical oncology or the american society of breast surgeons website.  That is a good place to start.  Medical oncology and radiation oncology have their own national societies, as well.  The bottom line - after you find someone online or by referrral - make sure that you feel comfortable with him/her as your doc.

can cbc test detect breast cancer or any type of cancers? i am doing a research study.what the the main symptoms? women can get lumpy dots due to hermonal changes is this right? if woman find it is it normal because of her period?when to do the test?

Unclear question: CBC may help in detecting cancers of the blood elements but not other cancers. CBC is not an appropriate screening test for cancer.

is there any proved research that taking hormonal-based contraceptive could cause or trigger breast cancer or cervix cancer as well as fallopian cyst?

Accepted Answer

No: hormonal activity can only act as a stimulus for an already existing cancer.  Gasoline can stimulate a fire, it doesn't cause it.  Breast and Cervix cancer have already been shown to be associated with certain viruses which induce the malignant transformation
