Depends: The location, color and character of the bumps can vary and so they could be simple acne, areolar glands, skin irritation or something else.  If you want them to go away ask your healthcare provider so they can look and help decide what is causing them.

May need Med: At 20, acne can still be a problem although it should be slowing down."regular acne" is usually just on the face and tends to respond to washing, topical medicine like benzoyl peroxide and time. If acne is also on the back and breast area it could be a severe form called cystic acne.If you have cysts, scars, sore swollen nodules, please be seen as this may need strong medication.

Forget diet: Alternative therapies have little benefit.  Acupuncture for acne? One cannot be serious. See a dermatologist. There are very effective treatments for this issue.

Cystic acne: If there is no contraindication to oral bcp's, this would be a way to decrease the hormonal production of the ovaries, fluctuations of which can predispose to oily skin and sebaceous cysts, which lead to acne.

Folliculitis?: Folliculitis is a bacterial skin that looks like scattered pimples.  It usually requires an antibiotic to clear it up.  See your doctor for a diagnosis and prescription.

Acne: Where acne occurs, on breasts, middle of chest, face, is dependent on skin condition and may not be symmetrical in any area.  So, yes, it may be increased on one breast vs. both the same.

i just started diane 35 primarily for acne and i am on day 10. my breasts are in a lot of pain. will this go away and why is it happening? thank you !

Variable breast pain: Diane 35 contains the sex hormones estrogen and progestins which override and stop your natural hormonal cycle.  Both can cause some breast glandular engorgement which is mostly noticeable when first starting the pills and then levels off with subsequent use,  especially during your pill free week.  Hang in there!

No: This is known as neonatal acne and will disappear in time. No treatment is needed.

It isn't possible: For you to remove your acne scars yourself. You can consult with a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon for procedures which will mitigate the scars.

Pretty rare: It is pretty rare but if you notice a change see your prescribing provider right away.
