It may: It may decrease the count. That's one of the reasons we say to not ejaculate for 2-3 days before the test. However, if you ejaculate daily, you can do the test with no abstinence and it will tell you what your true fertility potential is in a real life situation.

Masturbation: The man usually gives a sample at the fertility center by masturbating into a cup after 2-3 days of abstinence. Alternatively, but not optimally, for men who can't or won't masturbate we have a special condom that collects semen after intercourse.

How low?: Well....It only takes one, but men with below (roughly) 5-10 million motile normal sperm often can't impregnate their partners without medical assistance. If you wish to specify actual numbers i'd be glad to comment further.

Washed sperm : Washed sperm can live for 24 hours inside the genital tract. As for success, that depends on many factors. If looking only at sperm counts, 82 million is a good number that carries a better chance for pregnancy. Good luck.

Fair : Seems to have only mild reduction in count and morphology.   Pregnancy can still be acheived but the likelihood is reduced.  Timing is very important.

Vasectomy: Not sure I understand the question. Reduced sperm count usually comes from illness and I can't recommend that.

Surgeries to reduce sperm:
Vasectomy (permanent)

Testosterone will make you sterile (temporarily).

Prevent pregnancy: Condom.

Some new meds are coming that will cause temporary low counts, but they are not approved yet.
