swallowing too much air, smoking, sudden change in stomach temperature, such as drinking a hot drink and then a cold drink.

Sharp chest pain: You are describing esophageal spasm and acid reflux.  Try this - smaller bites, chew very thoroughly, sip fluid between bites, take a few seconds between each bite, smaller meals, smaller portions, softer foods.  If no contraindication, try omeprazole 20 mg OTC, twice a day for 2 weeks, then once a day for 10 weeks straight.  If you are heavy, aim to lose some weight.

Take a test: Don’t guess. Take a test.  They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

Find cause: Continuous hiccuping can be due to anything from disease irritating the diaphragm to a medication side effect to a goiter pressing on the phrenic nerve to neurologic disease. I am going to assume you are not an uncontrolled diabetic or in kidney failure. A physician's office visit is in order.
