Each side of the core/trunk of the body has these abdominus obliques  muscles. When they work individually, the body turns in that direction. Working together and simultaneously, they help the rectus abdominus muscles, to bend (ie, flexion) the body.

My Opinion Only: I think that over three months post ACL repair I would be a bit concerned about your story. Certainly I would revisit your Orthopedic surgeon for an opinion. Sounds like you may have a persistent EFFUSION ("water on the knee") interfering with flexion and which MAY be due to persistent joint lining inflammation(SYNOVITIS)   
My opinion only...hope it's helpful!

Arthroscopic surgery: Have an evaluation with your orthopedist who did the surgery. Physical therapy for sure.

Could be infection: Gout, pseudogout, cancer, or any number of conditions.  If you leave it alone, it could result in frozen shoulder.  She should see an orthopedic surgeon before it becomes more serious.

One is conservative : Wrist-weight bearing?you do not weight bear on wrist.From the limited information likely not much different.One sounds like wants to go straight to surgery.One wants to try conservative approach with steroid injection first.Maybe ask him if steroid injections do not work -what next,likely will tell you physical therapy then surgery.

Muscle spasm, cramp: Everyone has this happen from time to time.  Ask your mother!  It doesn't usually mean anything.  
Make sure you are not sitting or lying in some strange position cutting off circulation to the part, or wearing very high heels or uncomfortable shoes in general.  When it happens, extend (the opposite of flex, UNbend) the body part, using the floor or a door jamb or a wall to help you. Good luck!

The anterior compartment of thigh muscles include the rectus femoris (part of the quadriceps muscle group), & sartorius. One of the gluteal muscles (tensor fasciae latae) & the muscles of the medial compartment of thigh (pectineus, adductor longus & brevis, & gracilis).
