No easy removal: I am not a fan of surgery or medicine, but with moles, the very best and safest way to get rid of them is surgical excision.

NO NO NO: You should not remove mole even if possible , always need biopsy ( histological examination ) to make sure is not a malignant skin lesion ( melanoma ).

Don't think so: Over-the-counter "mole removal" creams probably work like the "wart removal" creams, using some irritant or acid to destroy cells on the skin. Moles have pigmented cells that include cells that are deeper down in the skin surface, so the cells that are not destroyed will likely reproduce to prevent the mole from going away. It's best to have a dermatologist look at any moles a person doesn't want.

Plastic Surgeon: They all can produce a scar.  You want to remove the mole in its entirety to make sure the entire lesion is benign. Get a plastic surgeon to do it if you want to minimize potential scaring. Best wishes.

You : You should seek an evaluation by a dermatologist as it is impossible to determine the nature of the lesion without a clinical exam.  The dermatologist will discuss with you the treatment options.

Leave it alone: It is clean procedure , chances of getting infected is very low, most of the time will need dry dressing only. Speak to your surgeon , some times you may develop local reaction from Neosporin .
