Bloody show: If it is a bloody show and not pathological bleeding it should follow quite soon thereafter.  If it does not happen you will need to see a doctor.

Not everyone : Some do but not everyone. It is not a reliable indication of labor. If you are bleeding you need to be evaluated.

Maybe: You could be in early labor or you could be having Braxton-Hicks contractions. Either way, you should give your doctor a call and let them know how frequent your contractions are coming.

i am 38+3 weeks pregnant and past 2 weeks i have had a lot of discharge, mucas like, but no bloody show. now all of a sudden i have no discharge!

It's OK: The baby may be down far enough in the pelvis that the mucous is trapped in the vagina right now.  You may get a rush of discharge at some point.  Are you feeling well otherwise and the baby moving OK?  Talk to your OB if you have concerns.

They can be: Blood show describes a plug that looks, well, more bloody.  Neither represent dangerous situations.

i just had sex with my husband less then 24 hrs ago. how can i tell its semen or mucus plug. what are the difference and is there a bloody show evtime?

Are you pregnant?: The cervix makes mucous nearly full time and the loss of the plug in no way endangers your pregnancy. You and the baby are just fine.

Problem: Hi. If you're already at gestational week 43, there is a problem. Maybe your EDC is wrong, but it it's right, your gyn needs to be contacted immediately. Please contact your gyn immediately! Good luck!

40 weeks, steady, painful contractions 5-6 mins apart,  2cm dialated &' 60% effaced. passing bloody show. &' still got sent home?  why?

Contractions: Usually you get watched and monitored for a couple of hours and if you are making no changes then you are sent home with precautions, meaning reasons to come back to the hospital.  You weren't making any progress and your baby looked good so your doctor felt it was early labor and you didn't need to be in the hospital yet.  Good luck, babies always come out, they never stay in!

i had my bloody show this morning but i've continued to have brown discharge now blood with no mucus - i'm 40 +2 days pregnant . is it bad ?

No: Bloody show can happen days before labor.  If you bleed like a period or have a gush of fluid get checked asap,  hopefully labor is only hours not days away!
