It depends: If you just had your blood drawn, then there is red swelling and pain, then some extra blood might have leaked under the skin. This will go away with time. If it has been a few days since you had your blood drawn, then you might be dealing with an infection, and you need to have your doctor check it out. You can put on some topical antibiotic and a bandaid, and call your doctor.

Possible infection: Go see your md or the facility where the blood drawn.  Because of possibility that an infection  
is in communication with the vein, it should be evaluated and treated.

Could be: Certainly could be MRSA infection. Use warm compress to treat and bring him to doctor to have it looked at. May need to be drained in order to treat.

why might blood drawn for a blood draw be bright cherry red? all 3 of my kids drawn this wkend. 2 usual dark red, 1 bright cherry red-usually blackish

Hard to tell: No diagnosis can be made just on the basis of the looks of blood itself. Usually venous blood is darker than arterial as it contains less oxygen, but your kids had venous and not arterial blood drawn. If there was accidental arterial penetration, then cherry colored, bright red blood could be obtained, but that should have been reported if occurred.

blood draw from rt a/c and tb test below it. 5 days later red dots around antecubital area and pimple next to red but neg tb test. normal? coincidence

2 seperate: Most probable cause is you had some minor localized reaction to the blood draw (possible contact dermatitis if you had a bandaide on the area or tape, etc.) and the TB test below the site of the same arm, would not have anything to do with the injection site of the blood draw. can you get infection from blood draw? i had bloodwork done. same lady who has done it for years. i took a nap and woke to find a thing red, raised line going toward my hand from it (1-2 inches long, very thin). it burned when i sprayed alcohol on it

Skin infection: It is theoretically possible to get infected at a blood draw site, but it is extremely rare. There is little or no risk of infection from the person drawing blood -- the risk is mainly from bacteria already on your skin, like staph or strep. A red streak from the blood draw site indeed could be an infection. If it keeps extending or spreading, or if fever, check with doctor immediately.

Hematoma: The venipuncture for blood draw leaked and caused a hematoma outside of the vein or in the vein wall or both and this will heal in most cases without any consequences. I recommend ice in the first 2 days, several times a day (15 min each time) and switch to topical heat on day 3-4 and take ibuprofen as tolerated.

which blood pressure meds are least likely to cause redness and a rash on the face? i am currently on hydralazine 25 mg, 1/2  the dose same reactions

Rash on face: yes hydralazine can cause a lupus like facial rash.  stop the medication and follow up with whichever physician started you on the medication=primary care physician or cardiologist.  There many other medications to control your blood pressure.

it looks like quick red rashes as if blood clotting right under the skin if i scratch somewhere with pressure or get hurt .what might be causing this?

Bleeding under skin: Some have thin skin resulting in easy bruising.    Some who take anti platelet meds (aspirin, plavix) suffer the same.  Some have low platelet count resulting in bleeding under skin.  Best to see your doctor who can see the area of concern, and make appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan.

face getting darker, small red rashes under the skin that look like blood clot, muscle pain. can this be early signs of psoriasis? is there any test?

See Your Doctor Now: Symptoms given do not point to a specific condition &amp; is not consistent with Psoriasis: a genetic, immune related disease that causes thick scaly skin in specific distribution/joint pain in 30%. Labs given also non-specific. Description given of face rash may be petechial (low platelets) &amp; with muscle pain could be viral. Further work-up is needed. See doctor now for correct diagnosis &amp; treatment.
