See a doc: Bleeding in the urine can be due to many things, cancer included. I'm not sure how you know it's from the urethra, could be from anywhere in the urinary tract. Be it as it may, don't panic but do see a doctor for a proper evaluation. Best to you.

Catheters: Depends on why the catheter was inserted, whether it is still in place and numerous other factors , including gender.   Unlikely to be a highly significant problem, but recommend you discuss it with the physician who placed the catheter.

Urology consultation: Serious business. I think you may need at least 7-10 days of absolute abstinence ( sure you can!!) and flood yourself with fluids. I think your symtoms warrant an examination as well as a urine analysisi and culture by a urologist. Blood is a good sign to STOP!!

Bleeding: Birth control pills do not cause changes in the urine so this is likely untreated. Bleeding at the wrong time on birth control is called breakthrough bleeding. You should not be bleeding from your urethra. That is not normal and should be evaluated by a gynecologist.

It sounds like you are getting a thorough and responsible work up. Rather than querying unknown doctors - talk with your medical team. Work with the urologist when available.

Need to see MD: A urethra (the urine tube) should never be bleeding normally.  If it is, all causes must be ruled out by a physician.  Depending on a male or female, bleeding can occur from trauma, but infection and cancer must be ruled out if bleeding ever occurs.  See your urologist.

Bad idea, so stop...: Teens without neurological urological disorders don't need to stick anything into their urethras. When exploring one's penis, typical normal masturbation is fine and does not cause damage. Likewise... men doing condom-protected, normal sexual intercourse do not cause their penises damage. As with all things in life, do everything in moderation. Even too much of a good thing can become a problem.
