IF: menstrual blood is black - don't worry. That just means that old blood is being cleaned from the uterus. If your bowel movement is black - that might be from taking peptobismol or iron. However since you take motrin and are suffering from abdominal pain - it would be important to ensure that it is not due to blood. Black, tarry, malodorous stool can be related to GI bleeding. Take care.

HCIEase: You're taking a digestive supplement containing herbs, and what you notice in your stools is probably a residue of herbs that wasn't fully digested. Black pigment can be caused by peptobismol, iron supplements or blood in the upper gi tract. Your physician can inspect your stool specimen and test it in his/her office for hidden blood. The greenish color may also be from ingredients in HCI Ease.

Possible ulcer: did you take Pepto Bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) for you stomach.  If so that can make your stools black.  if not old blood from an ulcer can cause this.  I would see my primary care physician.

Constipation: Small sized stool round in shape means it has been sitting in the colon for a long time and all the water is absorbed and has formed pebbles. Diarrhea caused by stool softner is probably water flowing around impacted stool. Have to cleanse the bowel. Avoid white flour, meat and use more green vegetables and fruits. Drink a lot of water. Treat constipation aggressively. See the dr. If not better.

is it possoble to see prunes and chiku fruit to show up in ur stool undigested..and show up as blackish stuff?

You bet!: That is certainly possible, especially if only parts of thhe stool were black. If the entire stool is black more than once, that is more worrying and if so, and you are weak, or dizzy, or have pain get checked.  I love prunes!  I've never had chiku, is it sweet? What does it taste like? You have so many fruits and veggies where you live that we don't have here!

Stool - black stuff : We often associated black stool with digested blood. You are best evaluated by a doctor in person. I also remember a young lady coming to the emergency room with concerns for black stool and it turned out to be blueberry skins.

Should be seen: You are not describing normal stool for either a formula fed or breast fed baby. Most solid foods at this point would still be in puree form so that would not explain either. Should consider if he put something in his mouth that may be the cause. Make apt to be seen and bring in sample or very good picture of the stool.

: This isn't tapeworm. If not something you ate, then pinworm is the most likely parasite. Pinworm is common and not too dangerous if treated. It usually causes itching around the anus because that's where they lay their eggs. It's more likely if you have a child but can occur in anyone and everyone in the house should be treated. Your doc can prescribe several treatments or Pyrantel pamoate is OTC.
