Lab Tests or Symptom: Your child's doctor can run lactose-intolerance tests.  However, the easiest way may be to remove lactose-containing foods/beverages from the child's diet and see if their symptoms improve.  I'm afraid all cheeses and yogurts contain lactose.  There are some speciality milks that are lactose free.  However, if your child is lactose-intolerant, there is no need to have dairy in their diet.

Know for sure: Try taking lactaid.  If symptoms improve, you'll have better information.  However, if not improving, then you are in realm of food allergy which can be a little bit tricky.  Have you been like this your whole life?

The Align: Probiotics are commonly recommended to restore/maintain healthy gut flora.  I am not so sure this will help directly with lactose intolerance.

Good for you.: Some people with lactose intolerance can tolerate small amounts of lactose-containing foods. It may be that you have found a yogurt that you can tolerate. It is possible that this particular brand may have less lactose than others. Anyway, if you're not having symptoms, feel free to take it in small amounts. Good luck.
