Reflux or sinuses: This is typical of a reflux problem or allergy sinusitis with porterior drainage that either one or both some times go to your wind pipe and irritated while you are sleeping and you wake up with chemical bronchitis from either the acid or the sinus drainage. See a doctor who can refer you to the proper specialist for evaluation and treatment.

Congestion: Based on the pathology the treatment is recommended.If it is infection needs antibiotic. If it is from allergies need antihistamine, may be steroidal nasal spray or inhaler and nasal lavage will help both conditions.

May be asthma and...: It is difficult to tell what you have, but i would suspect asthma is likely cause of your trouble. Cystic fibrosis may have similar symptoms, but should have been having symptoms since childhood. COPD is not likely in a 24 yrs old and alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency may also do so, but often in 30s-40s and smoking increase/causes earlier symptoms. U should consult doc for eval/treatment. recently better from a 2 wk spell of laryngitis. now i have itchy cough, very little clear mucus with brown dots. sometimes can feel chest mucus. help?

for the last 2 weeks, i have a dry cough, that feels like its at the top of my chest. i also have a pat nasal drip & scratchy though. the mucus is clear when i cough it up. 
ive been taking allerway 5 (antihistamine), sudafed, alcophyllex & acc200.

Nasal saline/allergy: You may be experiencing an allergic reaction. Rinse nasal passages to reduce post nasal drip and continue your antihistamine. Avoid over medication, drink fluids and check your temperature. Avoid smoke, dust, pollen, mold and animal dander. Have allergy testing completed as per your PCP.

Fever: If you have a fever &gt;101, chills or malaise, it is advisable to see your PCP. Nasal saline will relieve congestion and post nasal drip. Keep well hydrated, rest and eat well.
