2: Regular diet - go online and find many articles on food intake - the good, not so good, and bad. My preference is "NuVal" but others are also good.
3: Exercise regularly.

Dermatologist's...: Laser can help. Creams that make stretch marks look less obvious only work if one uses some sort of cream every day. So, it is fine to use the least expensive, nicest smelling cream. The stretch marks don't go away (they're still there inside the skin).  Most people live with their stretch marks and let them fade over time. (note: certain types of stretch marks may be signs of a hormonal disorder)

Pick your parents: Stretch marks are tough because they are usually genetic and related to the type of skin inherited from your parents.  Prevention -- avoiding rapid weight gain is probably the best treatment.  There are some things that dermatologists may recommend, but usually these don't help much.
