Possibly: If you have elevated testosterone levels, then birth control pills can help reduce the testosterone.  Topping the birth control pills may result in elevated testosterone levels, which can cause alopecia.

Alopecia: This is usually a fungal infection or a thyroid disease.  This means that you will not get help from the internet, but need to see a physician in person for an examination and blood testing.

Trial and error: there is no one "best" pill for ANY condition, although the pill manufacturers may try to make you believe there is. You need to work with a doctor who can go through the process with you. Good wishes.

Hair loss : Hair loss in a 25 year old is not likely to be related to female hormone levels. Alopecia areata is the most likely. Hypothyroidism is another common cause. If you are overweight elevated testosterone is another.

i was diagnosed with te after taking birth control. it worsened after taking spironolactone. now diagnosed as chronic te. regrowth falls out, normal labs. can cte cause a receding hairline in women? or would that be caused by male pattern baldness?

Wrong diagnosis: I believe that telogen effluvium is extremely unlikely from spironolactone. You are more likely suffering androgenetic alopecia. If you do not wish to take a chance on spironolactone, consider a 5-alpha reductase antagonist such as finasteride. Dutasteride is even more efffective. You can still use minaxidil topical. Finasteride costs about $10-$20 for 90 days. Dutasteride about $10 for 30 days. D

Yes: Bcp hormonal effects cause both an increase and a decrease in hair growth. You should experience hair loss for approx 3-4 months followed by a period of accelerated growth over 3-4 months.

Type of hormones: in your contraceptive, are the likely cause. Pregnancy and hormone birth control can cause excessive temporary loss. Thyroid testing could be checked.

It will improve: If this is related to the implanon, it will improve over the next few weeks/months.  Check with your doctor to make sure there is not another reason.  Thyroid disorders can lead to hair loss as well.
