No best: Many good choices, but key not to get in kids eyes as they can irritate. Ingredients to look for: salicylic acid, zinc pyrithione, selenium sulfide and ketoconazole. Best to rotate between these different ingredients for better results. For example when finish a bottle of one ingredient, next bottle can contain one of other ingredients listed above. Dandruff chronic problem so no cure.

Active washing with most dandruff shampoos will often do the trick, as well as avoiding baby oil on the scalp or other treatments.A soft cuticle brush to help scrub in the shampoo helps, but keep it away from the eyes.

Buy over-the-counter dandruff shampoos, and look for one that contains zinc pyrithione, which can reduce the fungus; selenium sulfide, which can limit cell turnover and decrease the amount of fungus; salicylic acid, which works as a sort of scrub to slough off dead skin; or ketoconazole, which works against a broad array of fungi.

i have bad dandruff. tried washing my hair with antidandruff shampoo & keeping my hair & scalp moisturised to no avail.  i wash my hair every 2-3 weeks since i keep my hair in protective styles(braids) it feels like a scab when i touch the dandruff?

Won't blind you: It'll heal itself. You're almost a grown man and need to get fears that you must surely recognize as unrealistic under control. You list "anxiety" as a problem -- this would be a great time talk with a therapist or counselor about why you have such fears as this and what you can do to be happier as life goes on.

Look for the generic non brand, it is cheaper. Take a long, five to ten minute, shampoo every day,  lather well, rinse well, and then use a Hydrocortisone cream or lotion, and rub it into the scalp and leave it.
