Sleepiness: If the infant took one dose, they may get very sleepy. Try to hydrate the baby if he/she is awake as much as you can and if you notice any trouble breathing take them to the er, but generally it should be ok and will resolve on its own.

Yes: The dose is a teaspoon of the 12.5 mg/5 ml syrup per 25 lb. given as often as every 4-6 hrs.

Not recommended: Antihistamines such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can cause paradoxical agitation and are not routinely recommended for young infants especially for viral colds

Too young?: It's usually not recommended to medicate babies this young. S/he doesnt have sinuses so, please do not try to treat for 'sinusitis'.  Check with your pediatrician before giving any over-the-counter med to your baby. In the meantime, you can give very small sprays of saline into baby's nose and use bulb suction to remove mucus.

Every 4 hrs: Up to every 4 hrs if needed.   At age 7, the baby can likely tolerate 6 mg of benadryl (diphenhydramine).   No problem with ear drops.   However if this problem goes on for more than 2 wks, you should contact your pediatrician.
