Uterine bleeding : Take regular Ibuprofen and if you have BCP increase the number to 4 once daily times 2 days and then taper by one every 2 days until back to 1 a day. The concern is that you will become anemic. Seek whatever medical you can for help. All the best.

GYN: I suggest a comprehensive GYN exam, pelvic ultrasound, uterine and cervical evaluation and if necessary biopsy of the uterine lining. Do not ignore these symptoms at your age. If you have been having unprotected intercourse get a blood pregnancy test. Call for an appointment today!

Yes: With the Depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) injection, your bleeding pattern will not be predictable. You may not bleed at all and some may have daily bleeding. It should gradually get better. It i still wise to do a pregnancy test just in case this is a miscarriage. Good Luck.

Normal depo effect: Irregular periods are the norm on depoprovera. Many patients have no periods at all. Others will experience irregular menstrual bleeding. This is how Depo-Provera works. If you are not satisfied with the bleeding pattern on Depo-Provera then consider using a different birth control method.

Prolonged bleeding: It is not normal to have your period for 4 weeks straight. There could be many reasons for this - you may have a thyroid problem, overgrowth of the lining of the uterus, a polyp of the uterus or cervix, or an infection, or other causes. You should see your doctor to be evaluated.

Heavy period: Heavy mensens with blood clots can be from fibroid uterus, see you gyn, you probably will need an ultrasound of the uterus and possibly an evaluation of the endometrium ( inside of the uterus) if a sonogram turn out to be normal, hormones level, coagulation disorder etc...

Contraceptive: Congratulations on having a contraceptive implant - one of the most effective forms of contraception available.  As you know, it is a way of releasing tiny amounts of hormones which interfere with your normal menstrual cycle.  Breakthrough bleeding does occur.  If this is new, you will want to let your doctor know.    Bring plenty of supplies and remember to use condoms to reduce the risk of STDs.

: Bleeding "for four weeks" is not a period, and should be investigated by your GYN physician.  Pregnancy can occur outside the uterus (ectopic) , so see your GYN physician for an exam and other testing as soon as possible.

Bummer: I'm so sorry that you're having these side effects.  You may want to talk to doctor about taking some estrogen to help stop the bleeding.  As far as the stomach cramping is concerned, Ibuprofen should work for that.  Craving coffee.... Hmmmm, i'm not sure that's related?

Pregnancy status?: You could be having a heavy period with clots for many reasons. You need to take a pregnancy test. You could be having a miscarriage. If you are not pregnant, it could be your bodies response to a hormonal change, such a recent pregnancy, going on or off birth control, depo shot or other external hormone exposure, peri menopausal bleeding or fibroids. You should see your gynecologist for testing.
