Prominent cartilage?: May be a prominent costochondral cartilage.  The beesting was probably coincidental although there may be a small persistent scar over the area from a resolved bite reaction from the sting as another possibility.  Or there may be some other abnormality.  Best here to be examined by a doctor licensed in your area - this should be able to sort through the possibilities to make a diagnosis.  Good luc

Yes: Joint pain can occur after a sting from a venomous insect.  Joint pain itself is not usually due to an allergic reaction but from an irritant reaction from the venom itself.  Ice applied to the sting site and the joint is helpful.

Protein in venom: A person who is allergic to stinging insects has  developed an allergy to a protein in the insect venom. Thankfully treatment with venom allergy injections is very successful.

Several days: My favorite treatment for a bee sting is a slice of onion rubbed on the sting...(not one at the eye). It neutralizes the sting and decreases swelling. Also homeopathic apis will decrease the swelling and help prevent itching.

Use EpiPEN, (epinephrine) go to ER: You may have no problem with this, but if you have an allergy or you think you do, my advice is to get to an er asap.  They will give you Epinephrine so you don't go into anaphylactic shock, which can close your airway and kill you.  After this episode is over, you might want to see your doctor and get an epipen, (epinephrine) which is a shot of Epinephrine you can give yourself quick if this happens again.
