Bed bugs: Spread of bedbugs depends on their human hosts for movement from one location to another. That is : Possible. Cimex lectularius or the bed bug is a parasite that is nocturnal. It can be transported on your clothing, luggage, second hand furniture etc. You can even get it using public transportation. It can go up to a year without feeding, so that allows it to just sit and wait until it catches a ride on something or someone.  If you live in an apartment complex it may move from one unit to &gt;&gt;.

Plausible not likely: No recorded cases that i know of. Not for bed bugs or kissing bugs. Mosquitoes can transfer malaria from one human to another but i know of no cases of hiv/aids transmitted by this vector. That should be reassuring because both malaria & HIV are endemic to the same areas of tropical africa. Anyone else have information on this terrorfying scenario?

: Allergic rashes are usually happening at the same time on different parts of the body except contact dermatitis when the rashes occur where your body contacts with the material, e.g. rashes on your hand due to glove or on your neck due to the necklace ...
By your description, insect bite is more likely.

Unlikely, see derm: Although unlikely, see your dermatologist to be treated for the bites and eliminate the bed bugs at the home.

my daughter has red itchy bumps on her arms and feet. what could be the cause? she was diagnosed with a staph infection but the bumps persist. bed bugs were mentioned but she is the only person being bitten. could this be an allergic reaction to something

This : This is tough to answer without a picture.  There are several possibilities including bites (fleas or other), eczema or allergic contact dermatitis, lichen planus, folliculitis (staph infection), and others.  I doubt bed bugs given the location.  I would recommend you try a moisturizer such as cerave cream twice daily and if not better after a few days consider a trip to the dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment options.  Bites are common in kids so that is certainly a possibility.  If they are bites, avoidance plus a steroid gel might be beneficial. I hope that helps.
