Mouthwash: I am not sure what you are asking, but some mouthwashes can cause sensitivity, especially if they contain alcohol.  Try an alcohol free mouthwash.  You may be more comfortable.

You don't have to: That burning and thirst sensations are probably  from the alcohol contents of the mouthwash , most of the over the counter ones do have a percentage  that vary from 10/40% in volume .
Try a none alcohol containing mouth rinses like plax or  biotene  , they come in other flavors than mint.

BMS treatment: Because no underlying cause of BMS has been identified, treatment of BMS has usually been symptomatic. The pharmacological therapy is the treatment of choice. Recently  clonazepam is used in the treatment of BMS. An alternative medicine, acupuncture is also helpful.

Burning Mouth: If it is from vomiting :
rinse and drink a lot of water; do not brush immediately upon vomiting due to the acid already in your mouth.
Also, don't use listerine or other mouth washes that contain alcohol.

Usually Controlled: Burning mouth syndrome is somthing we don't fully understand. It may be an issue with mouthwashes (do not use alcohol rinses) meds that you need (we work with md to change) or other diseases. We can often find a combination of things to control it and often it goes away as suddenly as it starts. One thing that can help is to drink lots of water. See your dentist and they should be able to help.
