: No it would not work like that.  Loss of lashes in the eyelid can be due to pulling them out, blepharitis, and most worrisome a cancer of the lid itself.  Please see and Ophthalmologist for an exam.

ALOPECIA  W/U: YES : Alopecia or hair loss may be multifaceted . You need full lab work up especially Thyroid studies b12 and folate. If they are normal start high dose Biotin zinc B12 and folic acid.  Also MASON-PEARSON brush spreads sebum and improves blood flow. &amp; Rogaine (minoxidil) may help If there is no improvement you beed dermatology consult for biopsy to rule out auto-immune ALOPECIA AERATA.

accutane first month of taking 40 mg accutane (2nd course 11 years apart).  in the 3rd week i noticed alopecia areata barbea - is there cause and effect - never had areata before?  im worried.

No.: I've been prescribing Accutane for over 30 years, and i've never seen nor heard of alopecia areata as a side effect. This is coincidence. No one knows what causes aa, of course, but there is no logical reason to assume that Accutane can be blamed.
