This means that cell renewal is slowed, collagen breaks down, and the connective tissue is destroyed.

Dry skin: You may have had a reaction/dermatitis to the previous soap, and a low dose hydro-cortisone cream may be of benefit, or just to make less dry, an over the counter moisturizer with aloe may help.  If persists, then see a dermatologist. Best wishes.

Lotions and meds: Try aquaphor lotion. There are many other lotions over the counter that can help like  johnson's creamy baby oil, cetaphil, arbonne's abc lotion, etc. Your baby may have eczema. See your primary care doc if it doesn't go away. There are some prescriptions as well. Good luck.

Get checked....: ...By your doctor for illness that can cause dry skin--mainly hypothyroidism--rule that out as a cause. Try using a vaporizer where you sleep. Shower in warm, not hot water. What are you taking 2 anti fungal drugs for? Could they be having some effect on your skin? See a dermatologist if necessary.

: Sounds like self diagnosis/treatment has caused things to go from bad to worse. Before you do any more damage, please seek evaluation and appropriate treatment from a skin specialist, a Dermatologist. Don't try to go it alone.

Generalized itch: Generalized itching without primary skin rash most commonly caused by dry skin. Most severe during the winter months and in older people, characterized by itching in areas of dry, scaly skin. Lab work should be checked to see if there is an underlying cause: CBC/diff, liver/renal function tests, and thyroid workup since you seem to be well moisturized.

I : I would consider using a hydrating cleanser such as cerave hydrating cleanser.  Then, apply cerave cream to the skin.  It helps replenish moisture into the skin and replace some of the components of the skin layer that are lost each day.  It doesn't tend to be as oily as some other products.  Unfortunately, this time of year is very drying to the skin due to low humidity. A good humidifier can also help a little.  I hope that helps!
