Baby babbles: Hi, "baby babbles" are usually the nonspecific sounds that an infant makes.  Generally, it starts around 4 months, with "cooing" and "gooing," when the infant is learning how to vocalize and communicate with others.  This progresses on as they can articulate more sounds, then more specific sounds emerge (not babbling) i.e. "dada, mama, dat, baba" etc.  Very cute, a very fun stage of infancy!!

my 3.5 month old baby smiles and babbles the whole time but he does not laugh yet. should i be worried?
when do babies generally start to laugh?

Laughing and babblin: Your son is doing just fine!  Babbling responsively is the beginnings of verbal communication and probably more important than laughing.  The deliciousness that is a baby's laugh is not far behind.  It can be hard to wait.

Well: He certainly is hearing well if he responds to your requests.  Typically a 19 month old will be saying more so I agree with the evaluation. However, I certainly have seen children go from not talking to speaking in paragraphs in a couple of months.  Always better to evaluate early than worry.

Change in infant sou: You can observe for few days and if you feel he is not doing what he was doing before, have him be examined by your pediatrician, and see if there is a problem.
