A good maybe: I often hear that from patients--feeling more energetic from a B12 injection..Even when their level is normal..Even high-normal. So, if you have low level to start with and you need it, i don't really see the downside..So give it a shot...You may feel better.
I assume you have a work-up by your doc to make sure no anemia or low thyroid etc...

It depends: Some people never need B12 shots. Most docs recommend 1000 mcg (1 mg) once a month for those who are deficient but Paul Cheney MD advises as much as 30 mg of hydroxycobalamin a day for chronic fatigue patients, an extremely high dose but it is safe. I advise methylcobalamin 1 mg/week for many.

Not at all: It is not uncommon to develop a defeciency in this vitamin, especially if you practice a Vegan lifestyle.  It has a somewhat complicated absorption process so at times it is less than efficient and levels remain low despite food intake or supplementation.  For some there is an autoimmune process calle pernicious anemia responsible for the b12 malabsorption. Injections are quickest way to correct.
