Commonly prescribed: It's not unusual, but often unnecessary.  Most pharyngitis is viral, so antbiotics like Azithromycin are just placebos.  Azithromycin would work for strep throat, a type of pharyngitis that should be treated with antibiotics.

Get rechecked: the chlamydialinfection should be gone; however,you may have developed a female yesst infection, possibly from antibiotic use. Call your prescribing physician. oK to use Monistat-3 or Tderazole for feamle itching discharge.

Maybe: Sometimes there are antibiotic resistant organisms that are not cleared by Azithromycin Rx. The best course of action is to ALWAYS go back to the MD for a repeat Chlamydial culture to be certain the treatment is effectively completed before engaging in any further sexual encounters.

Chlamydia: Sometimes the 1 day treatment of azithromycin doesn't work. A longer duration treatment with a different antibiotic may be needed.

Hard to say: I would contact your treating doc and arrange follow up. You may have a separate issue that co-existed with the chlamydia or require a second/different treatment. Re-testing may sort out your present issue.

Uncertain: The safer bet would be doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 10 days.  My issue with azithromycin is that men can be asymptomatic with active chlamydia and this may not be enough.

May be viral: Continued fever despite antibiotics may suggest that the symptoms are due to a virus. Other concerns would be a more significant lung infection such as empyema or a pleural effusion (fluid around the lung). Either way, this should be discussed with the baby's doctor.

M. genitalium: Mycoplasma genitalium has been around a long time, but serious research began only in the last few years as better tests became available. Much is unknown about this STI. MG may not be the cause of your dischrarge. And although moxifloxacin usually works, it can take more than a week and sometimes doens't work at all. Keep working w/ your doctors, or see an infectious disease or STI expert Gd luck
