I'd use Augmentin: Success is unlikely with either because these usually need to be drained. However, Augment in has broader coverage for the type of germs involved &amp; less (but some) potential for GI side effects.

Call your doctor: call the doctor who prescribed the antibiotics.  Not all rashes are the same.  They look different and can be caused by different things depending on if your child has had the antibiotic before and how many doses the child has taken.  Rashes in a child may be due to a virus and not antibiotics.   Call your doctor.

: Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, it interferes with bacterial life cycle and causes them to stop growing and dividing. Some bacteria have developed a compound called beta-lactamase which breaks down the amoxicillin. Clavulanate (clavulanic acid) is in a class of compounds called beta-lactamase inhibitors. It prevents the bacteria from breaking down the amoxicillin, so that the antibiotic can work.

It would be best to get in to see a provider knowledgeable about current treatment protocols and get correct treatment, if needed.This is nothing you would want to self treat with borrowed meds. Several of these germs can make you sterile.
