None : This is an intersting question. Althoug the official answer is none, there are studies where people are given capsules of certain foods which they said made their arthritis worse. This was blinded study  which means the people did not know what was in the various capsules they were tested for. The only substance that did flare the arthritis was in some who claimed they were allergic to milk.

Food has little effe: Food has little or no effect on arthritis. But there is considerable fatigue associated with rheumatoid type of arthritis ..So some foods like coffee and team may provide a bit of extra energy to allow you to move around better.

It might be.: Certainly the more joints that are involved, the greater likelyhood that it is some form of arthritis, especially if it has gone on for weeks. I would advise you, because of your age, that it is unlikely to be degenerative, and may be inflammatory. I advise seeing your physician, or seeing a rheumatolgist! i also favor once daily nsaids, for example Meloxicam 15mg. You need an rx for this.

Be careful : Eat a healthy, well balanced diet and stay close to your ideal body weight so affected joints have less extra weight to carry around. Get plenty of rest and exercise and decrease stress
be aware that many supplements interfere with or enhance effects of medications you're already taking. For example, a number of supplements increase the effects of blood-thinning medications.  Check with your doc.
