No: Pulmonary fibrosis comes from many different causes.  Basically it is a scarring of the lung tissue.  Imagine high-level radiation's treating a lung cancer, eliminating the cancer but causing some pulmonary fibrosis (scarring).  Unlikely a dilute solution from homeopathy would undo a scarring process.  Try it yourself though, if you have a scar on your skin, put some homeopathic remedy on it.

Sorry: True hamman-rich pulmonary fibrosis is refractory to treatment, and if some chinese herb worked, the research piranhas at the nih would have snapped it up immediately. "chinese herbs" are unregulated, often not what they're supposed to be, and some are deadly poisons that have produced epidemics of liver failure. I'm sorry about your lung disease but don't make it worse.

No good treatemtns: Unfortunately, there are no good, effective treatments for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Many have been tried, such as steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, and a drug called mucomyst, (acetylcysteine) but the studies done have not shown significant efficacy. 

Treatment is mainly supportive.

There aren't many...: Unfortunately, there are not many treatments for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis that have been shown to work. Mainly, the focus is on comfort and symptom management. 

Sometimes, oxygen can be of benefit. I would also get him evaluated for pulmonary rehab. Although there is no cure, there are many people who can live a long time with ipf. It depends on how bad it is. He should def. See a lung doc.

Controversial: There is no one definite treatment. One option is a combination of medicines to try to prevent inflammation and scar tissue build up. This is usually a  steroid medicine, an immune suppressant called immuran and another agent called n-acetyl cysteine. Since this is not proven to work some patients may enroll in clinical studies and get experimental therapy. Still others may simply be monitored.

Pulmonary : Pulmonary fibrosis is a collection of lung disorders that affect the connective tissue in the lung that cause inflammation and thickening of the support structure of the lung. The areas between the alveoli (the tiny air sacs at the very end of the bronchial tree) become thickened and it is harder to get the oxygen into the capillaries and red blood cells, and likewise it is harder to get the carbon dioxide that we produce out of the capillaries. Pulmonary fibrosis is not copd. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is made up of two disorders normally caused by smoking. These included chronic bronchitis and emphysema. These disorders affect the lung and cause problems in different ways than pulmonary fibrosis. However, some of the end result can be the same: it is harder to get oxygen into the body and harder for carbon dioxide to get out of the body. It is very important to see a pulmonary specialist for pulmonary fibrosis. There are many potential causes of pulmonary fibrosis, including genetic causes. However, there are some disorders that mimic true pulmonary fibrosis so it is really important to have an expert evaluate you. Prognosis and treatment depend on an expert evaluation to determine what your condition really is.
