Accepted Answer

Not common: I have treated patients with Accutane (isotretinoin) for many years and have not heard that particular complaint. Theoretically any medicine can cause just about any side effect but i really haven't seen that one.  I would talk this over with your dermatologist.

May just be tight: ness of skin. Accutane once finished is out of your system in one month, So if your cheeks are still swelling and its been more than a month see your prescribing doctor. if you are still on Accutane swelling may be due to sunburn as the medicine is sun senstizing

how to stop nosebleed while taking accutane?

Accepted Answer

Nose bleeds: Nosebleeds from whatever cause can be managed conservatively at home.  The biggest problem when you are taking Accutane is that you have to be even more persistent.  Keeping the nose moist is the key.  Start with a little saline spray.  There is even saline gel now available.  You can also apply petrolatum ointment to the inside of the nose.  This helps prevent drying.  Do these four times a day.

Accepted Answer

Simple answer is no: Isotretinoin, the generic form of accutane, is a systemic medication that is processed by the liver.  The liver is our primary metabolic organ that processes and clears medications, drugs, toxins, dietary nutrients, etc.  Using marijuana while taking systemic medications may alter the effects of the medication and lead to undesired side effects.

Accepted Answer

No: It's never safe to deliberately tan. A tan is a sign that your skin has been damaged, and increases your risk of skin cancer and premature aging. The increased sun sensitivity from Accutane dissipates within one or two months, but stick with self tanning products to get the tan look rather than damaging your skin through deliberate exposure to the sun or a tanning bed.

Accepted Answer

No!: You shouldn't be using IR sun lamps irregardless because of increased risk of skin damage and melanomas. Good riddance to them!  Also unless you have severe cystic acne you should try to absolutely minimize your exposure to accutane. When you do want to get pregnant in the future it greatly increases your risk of having a deformed baby (remember thalidomide)!

NONE: No supplements for acne woud really help once you have made the step to jump to accutane.

Anytime really: Just be responsible with it like you normally would.

Yes: There should be no problems with this combination.

Accepted Answer

Sure: Go right ahead. Just no ethanol / ethyl alcohol.
