As immunity falls over time the virus can reactivate, travel to the skin and causes shingles.  If you have never had, or been vaccinated for, chicken pox you could catch chicken pox from someone with shingles.  Shingles exposure is also dangerous for pregnant women and the immune suppressed.

It's manageable: Only the debris from the sores would carry any chance of passing the virus to others. It does not spread in your saliva or a cough as it might during chickenpox. In a group of kids, all of whom should have received 2 doses of the vaccine before school entry, I see no reason for you to stay away.If you can cover/control your sores, this is manageable as a teacher.
