Better choices: And we can't say that diet soda IS healthy! Drinking a can or two of diet soda a day is not likely to hurt you. The small amount of artificial sweeteners and chemicals in one or two are likely harmless.  But don't think it will really help you lose weight...many studies have shown this isn't the case. There are many healthier choices, mostly WATER:)

See previous answer: It could be a healthy choice depending on what your other choices might be.  Drinking beer?  Much better.  Drinking water?  Not so much.  Drinking sugar sweetened soda?  Way too many calories in 2 liters of soda.  I would consider this amount of soda, juice, coffee or milk excessive.  Moderation in all things.

Really no, but can!: Who would overdose on diet soda? No ingredient would be toxic.  However, drinking any fluids very quickly in extremely large amounts have been known to causes "rupture" of the stomach.  Very rare, but can occur.

Sodium, caffeine: Too much sodium, caffeine and artificial sweeteners which are not found in the same concentration in water. Try drinking water instead- its healthier.

Sugar vs Artificial: The question is ...Is the sugar better for you than the artificial sweeteners? I would chose water myself. There is so much junk in the soda besides the sugar and artificial sweeteners that i would stay away for the most part.

Yes: The artificial sweeteners  increase your appetite and you crave more foods. Also, they may have other potential side effects with prolonged use.

Yes : Soda contains corrosive acids such as citric, malic, tartaric carbonic or phosphoric which, can remove calcium from tooth enamel. Without protection from the dental enamel, the tissue underneath is susceptible to cavities, root canals & even extractions. Sugar causes cavities, consider rinsing your mouth after drinking soda. Best to avoid diet soda due to other health issues. Water is best for you.
