Copper deposits: These occur in wilson's disease and are a ring like deposit of copper which your ophthalmologist can see with the slit lamp during an examination.  They usually do not affect the vision.

Depending on your age, a life-time of noise can cause hearing loss, termed presbycusis. That results in a ringing, at about the frequency where you have the greatest loss. Sort of like "phantom limb syndrome" for the ears. Reco: see an ent, get a hearing test.

Tinnitis: The nerve cells of the ear respond to sound waves to send messages to the brain.  Sometimes these cells send messages to the brain without the sound wave stimulus.  We are not sure why this occurs.  If the cells are injured from trauma or infection or with older age this ringing sound may develop.  It is very difficult to treat.  Good hearing evaluation is appropriate.  Few "cures" exist.

Local nerve damage: Tinnitus is ringing in the ears caused by damage to the hearing nerve. It can come from a one-time event (rock concert) or multiple events over time. It is typically heard at the frequency of the damage. It is essentially the brain thinking it heard a sound at that frequency when there is no sound. The brain hears it because of the damage and does not always resolve completely.
