Need xray: You should really get a xray to make sure there are no fractures from your injury, which I presume was an inversion ankle sprain. With these sprains, fracture of the styloid process of the 5th metatarsal bone is common.

Os trigonum: Os trigonum is seldom symptomatic & seen in more than 10% of the population. Its a normal structure encountered in average people & professional athletes. Acquired form can result from non-union fractures. Conservative treatment can be effective in symptomatic patients with surgery being the last resort. Doubt permanent nerve damage & would re-consider diagnosis if that is the case.

Are you on levoquin?: Levoquin is an antibiotic associated with achelles tendon rupture, so if you are not, then there is not much in common with ankle swelling/pain and flu illness.
