However in females and diabetics it could show up like reflux or an uncomfortable feeling in the chest. If you are worried about your symptoms it is best to be evaluated.

Different creatures: We are all wired a little differently.  Women are statistically more likely to experience heart pain a little atypically, but all do not.  Interestingly, angina, even in people of the same sex, may be experienced quite differently.

Angina: Prinzmetal angina due to coronary artery spasm-- the reason for this spasm is not clearly understood. If you are having recurring episodes, you may have to undergo cardiac cath to rule out cad. If negative you may benefit from calcium channel blockers, nitroglycerine. Good luck.

Paraesophageal: Your hiatal hernia is probably only likely to mask your symptoms of angina if it is very large, also known as a paraesophageal hernia. This is best diagnosed with an upper G.I. Contrast study.

Antiplatelets: Usually anti-platelets are the stand treatment to prevent a further heart attack in the setting of a known coronary artery disease and post CABG. Anticoagulants could be used in such instances like atrial fibrillation or history of DVT or PE. Left atrial appendage exclusion reduce but does not eliminate the risk of strokes from atrial fibrillation therefore often times anticoagulants are continued
