Dark : Dark circles under the eyes have several possible causes. In some cases it is due to the deposition of hemoglobin by-products in the skin resulting from chronic nasal congestion.

In other cases, the dark circles is actually due to shadowing in the area that results from facial volume loss. This can be treated with improving the volume loss. This can be done with an in- office filler injection or facial fat grafting (fat transfer).

Another common cause is genetics. Some people simply have more pigmentation in their lower eyelid skin. This is very difficult to change.

No: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your lab findings are not consistent with pernicious anemia. You may be iron deficient but that in a male needs to be investigated to rule out occult bleeding. Please consult your doctor.

What appear to be dark circles under your eyes are sometimes just shadows cast by puffy eyelids or hollows under your eyes that develop as a normal part of aging. Causes may include: Allergies,Atopic dermatitis (eczema), Contact dermatitis, Fatigue, Heredity, Rubbing/scratching, sun exposure, thinning skin (common with aging).

Several Ways: Most often, if it not sleep deprivation, the dark circles under the eyes are due to nasal stuffiness caused by allergies.  The best way to handle this is to see your doctor and have them help you figure out a treatment plan.  There is also a good product from Sephora called erase paste that helps also.
