Labs are secondary: Visible lesions here are diagnosed primarily on the physical exam. If the lesion could be syphilis, you'll want labs. If the lesion could be chlamydia / gonorrhea, microbe studies. If it's a visible lesion, consider biopsy. Big lymph nodes? History and physical exam.

Accepted Answer

No: The best way to evaluate penile and cavernosal blood flow is with Doppler ultrasound. This can generally be done in the office by a urologist

your ct scan did not show any significant anatomical abnormalities. i believe your symptoms are likely due to cervical radiculopathy versus anxiety.

does this mean i have abnormalities but theyre not serious?

My answer: I believe you were informed that you had problems but were not "significant".  I do not quite understand whether you do or don't have a pinched nerve in the neck, and you do not say what body part was CT scanned.  Nor am I clear about anxiety.  Best to sit down with your doctor, be assertive, and have all of this clarified

my 7yr. old son is constantly grabbing his penis. he says it hurts. no burning just pain. water makes it worse. i gave it a visual inspection. i see no abnormalities or color difference. we have no insurance. please help.

Sometimes : Sometimes children can develop urethral irritation from soaps and bubble baths leading to a stinging or burning pain.  This can be treated by having the child drink lots of fluids and by having the child take a baking soda bath (1/4 baking soda in a half-full bath tub).

The following symptoms are reasons to take your child to the doctor's for evaluation:
-any bleeding or blood in the urine
-fever
-abdominal pain
-back pain
-any swelling or discoloration of the genitals
-worsening symptoms or if he is not better in 24-48 hours.

Pain vs. erections: Depends on how well a 3 year-old can communicate penile sensations. If he and parents have talked many times about a penis being soft and just hanging there, then hard and sticking out, then soft again for no apparent reason; and that this normal penis behavior happens to all boys; then new pain complaints may be real. Otherwise, young boys may say "pain" when they first become aware of erections.

i was fingered by a man shortly after he had touched his penis..there were no observable abnormalities and no genital to genital contaxt, but am i at risk for std if a man briefly touched himself then fingered me ?

: No, you won't lose your penis if you do not see a doctor. The worst outcome is eretile dysfunction and most of mild to moderate cases are self limited. In many cases, it recovers within 4 to 6 weeks with the vessel re-gain permeability in 9 weeks without any medical treatment.
