can mental issues cause physical pain? my anal fissure was totally healed in august. when i feel mild pain, i visit dr. and he says you are 100%ok. a little anal spasm give me shock of anxiety & depression and pain starts to increase. what is this?

: PTSD or recall of symptoms prior to healing is likely contributing to your symptoms as you are unable to differentiate the pain from the spasm from the pain from the fissure. Talk to your doc about ways to address your anxiety.

can a digital rectum exam damage the nerves or muscles in/around the anus/ rectum? i had one done around 5 days ago and now have spasming and pain.

why do i feel full after i just ate very little? is this serious? along with anal spasms - that don't last long.

IBS: Do you have  irritable bowel . Are you losing weight. Is there any anxiety or depression ? Is there any belching, bloating, nausea, constipation, or diarrhea.  I think you need to see a doctor to find out what is wrong, . Can be anything from a mild to a serious problem.

i have anal spasms every once in a while. they always happen in the middle of the night, and wake me from sleep. my dad has them too. what could cause?

Anal spasms: There is no definite answer to this question. You may have some sort of inflammation in your rectum. If you say, your dad had it, wonder if there may be anything genetic that affected the muscle in your rectum. I believe a general practitioner may be a good first line doc to start with. Eventually, may need to be referred out to a specialist.

Rectal spasm: Motility, compliance, & sensation of the rectum are important to fecal continence. Hypersensitivity to distension & abnormal motility patterns in the rectum are common in irritable bowel syndrome. In ibs-d patients, fecal urgency & cramping lend further to a hypersensitive rectum. Clinical testing distinguishes ibs from levator ani muscle dysfunction, sphincter dysfunction, dyssynergia, proctalgia.

Serial Dilation: Recurrent anal spasms can be a worrisome problem, but there are multiple medical and surgical treatments that are available. It is very important to be cautious in proceeding with surgery in this situation, because aggressive surgical therapy can result in a poorly functioning anal sphincter which can lead to incontinence or leaking. Ask your colorectal surgeon about serial dilations.

i had a prostate orgasm and ever since i've had anal spasms when i have erections and powerful orgasms to the point sex is unbearable and i'm depressing. also my prostate is oversensitive when sitting and doing exercise. did i rewire my brain?

: No, you didn't rewire your brain but you can get help from a urologist.  You are now very focused on that area of your body that any sensations there can trigger concern for you. Hypnic jerks: Probably hypnic jerks and periodic limb movements of sleep. These are worsened by some meds, caffeine, stress, alcohol, sleep deprivation.
