It has been reported: That some antibiotics can cause cardiac arrhythmias.  It is a rare occurrence.  It is more common with azithromycin than amoxicillin but it is rare with that drug too.  Here is another reason that antibiotics should only be used when absolutely necessary.  This is not something I worry too much about.  I'm more concerned about the complications of an untreated infection.

Yes: If you are prescribed amoxcillin at a specific dose and measure out the liquid to be the equivalent dose, then it will work in the same way.

Accepted Answer

No, but: Amoxicillin is usually prescribed three times a day and does not matter when you eat.   Penicillin is normally prescribed orally 4 times a day an hour before you eat.  So compliance is harder for penicllin and so Amoxicillin is easier to be in compliance with and thus would be more effective.
