No treatment needed: These bacteria do not cause urinary tract infection. They come from your vagina or labia, i.e. the urine specimen was not a true "clean catch". THe positive nitrates may mean you have a UTI, but if so it is due to other bacteria that apparently were missed on culture. Discuss next steps with your doctor.

Probable UTI: Group B beta strep is commonly carried in the vagina, usually without harm, except if present during labor, it can cause serious infections in the baby. However, it sometimes causes UTI as well. If you have typical UTI symptoms (urineary frequency, urgency, burning) or high white blood cells in the urine, you should be treated. If not, maybe retest and don't worry if neg. Discuss w/ your doctor.

They're pathogemic: Alpha hemolytic strep are not non-pathogenic. They include the pneumococcus  ( strep pnemoniae) and also viridans group strep. These all cause human disease.

Yes: Of course it is possible for you to have sex when you have urinary tract infection. I trust that you under treatment for the infection. Please note that trauma of sex may damage the lining of the urethra and worsen the infection and pain due to infection.

See below : We usually do not treat positive urine cultures unless the person has urinary symptoms such as burning while urinating, urinating much more than often, or bloody urine...The main exception when we do treat positive urine cultures regardless of symptoms is in pregnant women. Anyways you should definitely check with your doctor.

: It is possible that you did not collect the urine specimen correctly and it was contaminated with vaginal fluid.

Symptoms?: If you do have symptoms then it should be treated. Usually with Amoxicillin.

Very common: Gbs is common and generally doesn't cause health problems in adults, but could cause serious infections in newborns which is why we test for it.  If found, we simply treat the mother with antibiotics prior to or during delivery and most problems can be avoided.
