i got weekly allergy shots from 1989 to 1994 (which did not help) and still get intermittent itching at the injection site.  is this normal?

No: It is not normal but it is also not related to the previous allergy shots.

i got the flu and prevnar13 shots 6 days ago. i was tired and achy. now there is a red splotch under the injection site. it isn't itchy, but with the aches i am concerned. i only have a latex allergy but the person giving the shot did not use latex?

It's pretty common: it's an immune reaction. Personally, I kind of believe in the 19th century idea that a vaccine that makes more of a 'take' (the signs you mention) produces a better immune reaction.
Vaccines vary between the type (live is stronger) and between people on how much inflammation they produce.

I do not think so.: All injection sites including intramuscularly injected hydroxyprogesterone should be done on a surface that was previously cleaned for example with alcohol. Cleaning that same area at a later time by washing with water/ soap should not be a problem.

Yes: Right after the shot there may be an itchy lump on the skin like a hive, anywhere from a pinpoint to a silver dollar size. This is usually normal, although some doctors adjust the dose if it's large. Also, as the dose gets higher, it is common to have a hard, non-tender swelling that develops over a few hours and lasts a few days. This is also normal.

Unusual: Although allergy shots not uncommonly induce a delayed swelling at the site, it is unusual for the reaction to stay for &gt;a week . I suspect your problem is from repeated scratching causing a nodule (prurigo nodularis) which often responds to cortisone injection directly into the lesion.

We do not know: Some patients get lifelong relief from allergy shots, while others never seem to be able to stop them.  Most patients get a least 10 years of relief from 3-5 years of shots.

Possible: The most common adverse reactions following allergy immunotherapy (allergy shots) is a small local reaction at the site of the injection.  There is the very low risk of more significant allergic reactions.  Although migraines are not allergic reactions, potentially any stressful situation or trigger depending on the individual could bring on a migraine.

i had a baby 6 days ago, since my epidural  i have developed a rash at the injection site, abd now is on my neck. is this normal. no allergies to tape?

Not normal: could be meds, tape or iodine or other cleansing solution. try benadryl (diphenhydramine). if not improved, see your doctor
