i have had head pressure for months now i have had mris and xray and all clear i have taken all allergy and migraine meds no help! i need help!

Pressure?: Pain or pressure in the head? Is it throbbing, does it have a daytime/nighttime pattern? With normal MRI that is good news. I would see a neurologist.

Meclizine is an: antihistamine med, and should help with vertigo.  ENT is specialist for this type of problem, so please follow advice given to you.

i've allergies to tryptans and migraine meds. fioricent is the only migraine med that didn't cause a reaction, but it doesn't work. any other options?

Accepted Answer

Yes : There are several but you should discuss it with a neurologist because they need monitoring and have specific side effects (like all medicines). Two other possibilities are topamax (topiramate) and depakote.

Work related headach: Headaches have many causes and many types of headaches are mistakenly referred to "migraines," which have specific features.  Work-related headaches could be due to some occupational exposure such as chemicals or certain odors, or due to stress, causing tension-type headache.  With allergy symptoms, sinus pressure headache is also a possibility due to sinus congestion.

Stuffy nose: With chronic sinus congestion, pressure changes in sinuses causes severe headaches sometimes. Relieve allergic rhinitis, clean out sinuses, do those nasal irrigations, take your allergy medicines, and your headaches will subside. Go on a plane or dive with sinus congestion and you will be in trouble from the change in pressure.

Indirectly: Allergies aren't the cause of sinus infection and migraines, per say.  However, allergies can be a trigger for some people with migraines.  Allergies can also contribute to sinus infections.  The inflammation caused by allergies can be a set up for migraines.

status migraine w/ rebound 6+ wks. afraid to sleep and wake up in pain. plz c profile. what can i do to break this migraine w/ my allergies.

Vicodin MOH: Medication Overuse Headache include analgesic rebound headache and drug-induced headache. It may awaken the patient from sleep, most patients experience an early-morning headaches. Patients with MOH take multiple daily doses of one or more analgesics in an effort to suppress the pain. See orofacial pain o headache specialist for evaluation.

i took 2 allergy relief pills and 4 excedrin migraine pills to zap a severe migraine. is that too much?

Not too much...: But if the Excedrin is not working, you need to try something else.  Please see your doctor - migraines are a common thing that primary care doctors see.  There are a good range of prescription medicines to try.

No Evidence: It seems that there is not enough hard scientific data to prove or disprove any particular food triggers a migraine.  However, many people report that foods containing tyramine and msg trigger their headache.  Certainly some people believe sinus issues to be responsible for headache (hence the term sinus headache) but these are not, strictly speaking, migraines.

migraine sufferer. don't get them often.  3 migraines in 5 days.  could my severe allergies be causing them.  pollen is a nemesis?

Well...maybe: Sometimes bad allergies stuff people up, so they can't breathe well...so they don't SLEEP well.  Disruption of sleep patterns is a time-honored way to mess with your migraines!  Sometimes the allergy meds (especially decongestants) can make it easier to have migraines, too.
