Rash: It would be rash to try and diagnose a cutaneous eruption without seeing it. Yours sounds like it may either be a contact dermatitis or an allergic reaction, but there are several diseases endemic to South America which can produce lesions of this nature. Would strongly suggest that you find an infectious diseases expert to see you. Bring along a full list of all sites of travel, contacts, animals

Yes: as long as the ingredient in the cream that you reacted to wasn't alcohol. Remember that alcohol causes flushing of the skin, which could make your rash itch more temporarily. Possibly: Persons may develop allergic antibodies to the componets of wine (grape) or beer (barley, rye, hops) or even to the brewer's yeast. Some are also sensitive to the perservatives used such as sulfites. Un-sulfited wine is available in most wine shops. If consumption of any food or beverage repeatly results in an allergic symptom, then you are by definition allergic, regardless of the mechanism.

i have itchy skin on back of calves. they appear to look like rashes and turn to scabs  don't go away. they get worse when i drink alcohol or shave.?

Sounds like eczema: Sounds like you may have some eczema, although this isn't the most common place for it.  It would be best to let a doctor look at these rashes -- start with your primary care doctor, and if need be, see a dermatologist.  Good luck to you.

Maybe.: Rashes are caused by many things.  Alcohol will be effective if the rash responds to drying, as alcohol primarily dries out the skin.  Some rashes are caused by allergies, some by viruses, some by bacterial infections, and so on.  The best way to clear a rash is to find the cause and treat that.

Not a problem: You probably ingested 50 mg which hopefully will take care of your allergy.  The only side effect might be heavier sleep than usual.  You should not be scared about this amount of a dose.
