Not in general: Unless you are having more "athletic" sex while or after smoking marijuana.  There is no known effect of cannabis on any kind of bladder pathology, at least that I have ever had in my patients or in the medical literature.

Yes: Marijuana use is not recommended while on antibiotics. Specifically, marijuana use with antibiotics can interfere with the absorption and metabolism of the antibiotics in the gastrointestinal tract. This can slow down the amount of time it takes the antibiotics to begin working properly to fight the infection. Marijuana use can also slow down the healing process of the body.

UTI's in kids: Children do not get urinary tract infections for most of the same reasons that adults do.  First and foremost, anatomical issues such as vesicoureteral reflux, posterior urethral valves and others issues must be investigated.  Otherwise, UTI's in children are often due to poor hygiene/wiping, masturbation, infrequent diaper or pull up changes, or chronic urethral irritation.

what are the best medicines for chronic suppression for utis?

Septra, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) norfloxacin: Trimethoprim/sulfa (septra (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) or bactrim), norfloxacin, and Nitrofurantoin (macrobid) given in low dose each night before bed are the usual antibiotics used for frequently recurrent uti's.  I do not prescribe Nitrofurantoin because of its potentially serious toxicities.
