Differin, (adapalene) but...: Different people have different results, no pun intended.  Today, no one needs to have acne.  I start people with topical clindamycin; i required 25 years on systemic tetracycline with good results.  A dermatologist can write for a retinoic acid derivative that's very powerful even for the toughest cases.  Good luck.

Differin (adapalene) for acne: Differin is much better than Azelex (azelaic acid) for acne, in my opinion.  Azelex (azelaic acid) will be great for moderate acne and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Accepted Answer

Not recommended.: Differin (adapalene) is a topical retinoid medication similar to vitamin a.  It is helpful in nearly all cases of acne.  If you are using salicylic acid in addition to differin (adapalene), (adapalene) i would recommend you put them on at separate times.  I would separate the application by at least 6 hrs.  If you apply them to your face together, you may decrease the effectiveness of the differin (adapalene).

can i use creave acne foaming cream cleanser, and differin together?.it's says not to mix differin with products containing glycolic acid, but i see alot of use of the combinations?

: You can use both but at different times, I suggest. You can wash face with benzoyl peroxide face wash in the morning and apply differin at night before bedtime. You face may get dry a lot with this combination.

i have several acne products and im curious to know which ones can be mixed together. i have adapalene, clindamycin, azelaic acid, and triamcinolone. which products can be mixed together and which ones should i use in the night time and the morning?

: You should not use triamcinolone for acne and you should not mix those noted products. You should apply adapalene at night before sleep, wash your face with azelaic acid in the morning than apply clindamycin after that. Good luck.

my doctor has prescribed me salicylic acid gel cleanser and differin (adapalene) for my acne marks, do you think it's effective for acne marks?

Depends: This depends on the severity of the scars/marks. It is a good regimen for preventing new acne scars, but ones that are already present pose a different problem. If you have deep pits and scars from previous cystic lesions, even the salicylic acid may not be enough to remove these. You may want to work with a dermatologist or even a plastic surgeon if you have significant scarring.

will purging occur again if so i say that im using adapalene for my skin now then the next day i switch to a prescribed acne treatment containing azelaic acid, tretinoin and clindamycin phosphate?

: Topical use of what you described is unlikely to have caused your purging so look for something else as cause of the purging. Oral use of Clindamycin may cause diarrhea because of C. difficile colitis, but not usually topical use.

Yes and no: The adapalene is a newer formulation of Retin-A and will promote exfoliation and possible help reduce the melasma
THe clindamycin however will have little if any effect

Accepted Answer

Adapalene is a : once a day application. The new medicine epiduo contains adapalene and benzoyl peroxide ( that is antibacterial like Clinda). Its all in one and once a day, if your insurance won't cover it, then i would do Clinda in am and you can put adapalene on at bedtime and cover with Clinda when dry.
