Repeat therapy: Most probably another infection.  The original infection may have been eradicated and you have acquired a new infection or the original infection was not eradicated  and must be retreated.

Need for examination: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful comment without physical examination and lab tests and imaging, if the latter are needed. Please consult your doctor to avoid further damage to your organs. Any bleeding should be taken seriously.

Probably BV: MetroGel usually is prescribed only for bacterial vaginosis, so your doctor must think you have BV. However, oral treatment with metronidazole is much mor effective than MetroGel. BV may or may not be an STD -- there is debate about it among experts. But BV is often associated with other STDs (gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomonas), so make sure you were tested for them. had an ear infection since dec, tried otomize ear infection didnt clear so dr did swab, swab results showed an unusual bacterial infection. dr said lab recommended a differnt antibiotic ear drop will this work now and clear infection?

: If there is an oral antibiotic which is sensitive to that unusual bacteria I would prefer a combination of both topical and systemic antibiotics for this otitis media because of your concern. Good luck!

Type of germ: Atypical bacteria is a label given to a group of germs with different physical characteristics than usual bacteria.The term has no significance to you, other than the doc has made the assessment that the features of your infection will respond best to meds used to treat the atypicals. It is doctor jargon,sorry we're so confusing.

If our immune system isnt intact (skin breakdown, chemo, poor nutrition, burns, immune diseases) these bad bacteria overcome our immune system and attack us.
