Yes: It is not unusual for the baby's heart rate to be slower when it first starts (around 6 and 1/2 weeks generally).  They will likely be much faster, around 160-170 BPM the next time you hear/see them.

No: It's not unusual to be distressed when you're pregnant.

Possible: At six weeks gestation a transvaginal ultrasound will show fetal heart motion about 93% to 95% of the time.  A recheck in one week will tell for sure if everything is ok or not.

i believe i had chorioamnionitis after my cerclage & my ob stated i only had bv. a month later was hospitalized & lost baby. i'm 6 weeks pregnant & worried?

Relax, but see an OB: Chorioamnionitis is very rare in early pregnancy and fairly rare after a cerclage (though it does happen).  Bv can be a risk factor for certain pregnant women, and in your case you should be tested and treated if it is present.  You will want to see a high-risk pregnancy specialist.  They can help decide if you need a cerclage again, when to place it, and what type to place (there are three kinds).

Greens and folate (folic acid): Seek prenatal care.  Take a prenatal vitamin with folate (folic acid).  No alcohol or cigarettes.  Eat plenty of leafy green vegetables.  Kale is a perfect vegetable for you.  Practice eating healthy now as an example for your child: avoid junk food, sugary drinks, and large portions of carbs.  You'll feel better and your child will be healthier!
