Kidney stone: Depending on the location and duration of a stone, pain can vary.  If the stone is intermittently blocking pain intensity can change.  The longer the stone has been causing obstruction the lesser the intensity of the discomfort.

No: The only short term study of effects of the herb cystone on kidney stones showed that it had no effect. A 7.5 mm lower pole stone has an almost zero% chance of passing. The best option for this stone is percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Good luck.

Pain &amp; problems: You can not leave them as will give severe pains , obstruction to ureter if untreated may even loose the kidney.  Some times can pass stones  but 5 mm one already stuck in ureter . Need to see urologist , and follow the advise .

Possible: Whiles a 5.5 mm stone may successfully pass, it usually causes a great deal of severe pain in doing so.  The stone may be treated with lithotripsy while it is in a non-obstructing position in the kidney.

Ureter: More than likely the worse pain is when the stone is passing down the ureter and into bladder.   You may get some pain or discomfort urinating the stone out.
