38 weeks before due: Pregnancy is counted as 40 weeks, and conception is 38 weeks before the due date. One can use a calendar to count back 38 weeks from the due date set by the ultrasound scan done at 8-11 weeks of pregnancy, to see the estimated conception date.  Scans done at 8-11 weeks are quite accurate at ESTIMATING pregnancy dates.  The exact date of natural conception is never known, and rarely matters.

38 weeks before due: Pregnancy is counted as 40 weeks, and conception is 38 weeks before the due date. One can just grab a calendar and count back 38 weeks from Sunday May 10, 2015... and the estimated conception date is that Sunday 38 weeks earlier. Sex any day in May 2014 would be much too early to create a baby due in May 2015.

Dates: The so-called "gestational age" is calculated from the first day of you. It is the standard that everyone uses. It is actually approximately 38 days from conception.

Yes: It is certainly common. For one, she is probably not sleeping well at night with a 40 week baby in her tummy.

Guy #2: Conception most likely occurred in August. Genetic testing when the baby is born is very conclusive if still in doubt.

Pregnancy dating: If you are unsure of your last menstrual period, then the most accurate way to date the pregnancy is with an ultrasound in the first trimester. Since this is how you were dated, i would trust the due date to be accurate.

how accurate is estimated due date using last menstruated date? i am currently sitting on 40 weeks but i know i was pregnant after the 26 of  march 2020 and now my gynecologist because the baby hasnt dropped hes forcing me to have c section

Better to be safe: Pregnancies lasting longer than 40 weeks are more at risk of severe life threatening conditions. Because of the size of the baby and its movement, it can easily become entangled in the cord, cutting of its blood supply. This can result in the baby's death or oxygen deprivation. You are also at risk for a uterine infection and an oversize baby which can get stuck in the vaginal canal.
