Soup &amp; BPA: if you are looking for preprepared soup and wanting to avoid cans, try soup that comes in a jar or in a special waterproof box. You can also get preprepared soups at most groceries at their ready to eat section.

See OB!: Six weeks? Why not ask your OB for anti-nausea medicine 5 weeks ago? Common problem in 1st trimester,  and many options can be prescribed.  Dramamine, zofran, (ondansetron) cola syrup, etc. Fetus needs nutrition.

Of course, but...: The GI tract has a very limited # of symptoms to signal its distress--nausea/vomiting, diarrhea/constipation, bloating, pain, fullness, bleeding, etc. As you know, many of these characterize ibs, but are also seen with inflammatory, infectious, ischemic, malabsorptive, & functional disorders. Directed lab work, imaging, biopsies, stool studies will answer your question as to cause & treatment.

Mackerel fish: A one time accidental intake of some mackerel is highly unlikely to cause harm to the baby.  You should avoid most fish that contain mercury, and other contaminates.    One safe fish is wild salmon.

Set an appointment: If trying to get pregnant, or if newly pregnant and not already taking prenatal multivitamins, she can start them now.  If a woman is in good health with good nutrition, the added vitamins are not noticeable to her body. The vitamins don't help her get pregnant. Folic Acid in the prenatal vitamins decreases the chance of a type of birth defect. Her Ob-Gyn or Family doctor can a clinic appointment.
