i have trouble breathing through my nostrils. i used 4-way nasal spray with menthol. they no longer make it. my nasal membranes swell.  what can i do?

Rebound: You may have tachyphylaxis (or your nose has gotten used to needing the nasal spray). You could tough it out and in 1 week you will get better. If not you could consider getting a nasal steroid to treat allergic rhinitis.

why was nasal spray 4-way taken off the market?

?: This isn't the first time, several reasons: some Novartis products were cited byFDA and recalled, others claim that OTC decongestants in general were withdrawn, unlikely. At any rate alternatives are available/other generic brands please read the labels carefully. If you really suffer and need the 4 way or other decongestant more often, you better see an ENT/Allergist, check aaaai.org or acaai.org

what can i do if i have constant nasal drip? and what can be the cause of it? also had a quadruple bypass in february 2018

One has : nothing to do with the other...Post Nasal Drip may be due to allergy or may be from sinus drainage...an EAR NOSE THROAT exam is indicated. Ask for a referral....Hope this helps!

Most likely yes: If you have major symptoms (e.g. Purulent rhinorrhea, facial pain, nasal congestion, fever, or toothache) for more than 7 days, your doctor should consider antibiotics.

for about four years now ive been having thick white, sticky nasal mucus.  a little bit of it comes out, but lots of times is long and thick almost looks like semen ropes, but smaller.  sorry but that best describes it.  i have to pick it out, ideas?

Sinusitis: Chronic allergic rhinosinusitus or chronic fungal nasal infection could give you thick white stringy mucus.  It may be interrupting your sleep and causing daytime sleepiness or even memory loss. You should consider having your primary care provider evaluate this condition before damage to the sinuses occurs.

i had nasal polyp removal surgery four days ago. today my nose is completely blocked. can they grow back that fast?

No they don't:  You'll have some swelling and tenderness inside your nose after the surgery, but this is normal. It can take several weeks for you to fully recover.

i have a sinus infection and normal saline does not work for me is it safe to use nasal four it says it contains phenylephrine hci 1%?

Sinus: As long as you have no heart disease or blood pressure issues you can use the spray for three days then stop it as it can cause rebound swelling. Also consider a sinus rinse

is it possible for me to use mucinex (guaifenesin) sinus max nasal spray on my four year old?

Not recommended: The dose would be too high and most likely would be not effective for the child.

Consult: Since it has been four weeks of illness, you should personally consult a physician to determine if a prescription medication will be helpful in your case. Check your temperature as well. Take care.

can i take aztastine hydrochloride & fluncasone propionate nasal spray for 6 weeks as recommended by my ent. and decreasing the dose from two times a day to one after four weeks. i am suffering from maxillary sinitius, will it work?

: ENTs are remarkably skilled in treating sinusitis. The fluticasone reduces symptoms and azelastine helps too. Saline can help with chronic infections as well.
